Do I have to have an understanding of photography or be at a certain level of photography to partake in this program?
Not at all! This program is tailored to each individual to provide a fast tracked and in-depth learning outcome that focuses on the genre, techniques and areas that you are lacking confidence in. While giving you guidance and exploring your strengths and weaknesses to provide a better balance to make you a more competent and well rounded photographer.
What if part of the program doesn’t suit my needs?
This is a tailored program that is completely bespoke to each individual and their desired learning outcome specific to their needs, For example if you are a more experience photographer and know your equipment I will create a tailored program to focus on the areas that you would like to focus on.
Why did you create a mentoring program?
I created this mentoring program from an initial place of frustration. Growing up as a young photographer I went through my journey at a much slower pace. I made a lot of mistakes in the early days. I reached out to as many different photographers and creatives to try and adopt various techniques until I was able to develop my own style and method of capturing a wide range of genres.
I continued to face many roadblocks early on in my career when I was wanting to learn and find mentoring. I was looking for someone that could take me under their wing and guide me through everything I needed to know.
To no avail, I continued to absorb as much as I could from other photographers around me enrolling in many private courses and working harder than I needed to. Through lots of self teaching and making mistakes along the way, I refined my craft to become the photographer I am today.
It’s because of this past that I vowed to be an open book when it comes to sharing my knowledge and back in 2015 I became a Photography educator and instructor for Canon Australia.
This was my opportunity to impart my learnings and technical knowledge onto anyone that wanted to know their camera inside out and assist people that were struggling with the fundamentals of photography. Over the past 7 years I have hosted close to 1000 workshops, events and tours. This has enabled me to refine my teaching style so that no matter where you are in your photography journey I can best guide you to advance your ability and remove the confusion of the technicality of photography.
What do I need?

About your Mentor:
Scott Stramyk is an Australian Travel and Lifestyle photographer, educator & photography tour host. He’s well known within the photography industry for his dedication and energy to share his passion for photography and travel. With over 12 years in the photography industry, Scott has openly imparted his knowledge as a Canon Ambassador by running education and training for professionals, retailers, education institutions and the general public.
His mission is to nurture and coach more than 100,000 people through his workshops, photo tours and mentoring programs. With close to 1000 workshops and tours under his belt, Scott’s calm and patient persona when providing instruction and coaching has cultivated a community of keen enthusiasts and professional photographers alike.
Scott, along with two other established and well-known photographers; Jay Collier & Greg Sullavan, has assembled a community initiative called Photographers Collective.
